"We understand that major companies ignore your patent rights because they control market share, so we level the playing field for our clients. It can be difficult to fight back against large competitors. Aggressive patent litigation is a great tool to bring about fair negotiations between our clients and major corporations who are infringing their patent rights."

                - Jeff Hunt, Principal Patent Attorney
                  Moore Landrey LLP

About Our Clients. Frequently, our clients are small or mid-size companies and individual inventors who own, or seek to purchase or apply for valuable patents to protect their hard-earned, expensive investments in research, product development, systems innovations, know-how, market position, and goodwill. Initially, their patents are simply ignored by competitors, such as major multinational corporations. If you are in this situation, you can relax, because we help many clients just like you. We understand how to use patent litigation and related negotiations as tools to level the playing field and help our clients fight major competitors who are infringing their patent rights.

About Our Fees. Fees are a bottom-line issue which can make your patent project profitable or unworkable, so we discuss fees up front. We structure contingent fee arrangements for some patent litigation matters. We request payment of a retainer for patent application projects, and the amount depends upon the nature and scope of the project. We are flexible and realistic. Fee arrangements can be structured to fit your business circumstances.

About Our Services.

1. Patent Applications. We prepare and file patent applications in the U.S. and foreign countries for valuable inventions and improvements. We perform related patent searches when necessary. We help you identify and differentiate the important patent rights which are likely to be valuable and worth your investment, and other technical areas of less value and importance.

2. Patent Infringement Litigation. We analyze whether products are infringing patents owned by our clients. When companies are infringing our clients' patents, we aggressively negotiate on behalf of our clients. Frequently we undertake complex patent infringement litigation in order to bring alleged infringers to the bargaining table for reasonable, good faith licensing negotiations. Our patent litigation teams approach disputes much like a team playing a college football bowl game - we prepare to win and execute our game plan.

3. Invention Licensing for Products. We can contact manufacturers and negotiate licenses for patent-pending and patented inventions, product ideas, improvements, processes, and "know-how" owned by clients. Corporations may respond more favorably to clients who are represented by experienced patent counsel, and less so to individuals going solo.

4. Intellectual Property and Development Plans. We can identify opportunities for clients to develop valuable patent rights related to their business and expertise, and target patent applications to obtain patents which support your strategic business plans. We perform "state of the art" and "technology landscape" searches and analysis.

5. Intellectual Property Audits. We perform surveys of staff and internal processes to identify important intellectual property of your organization and to direct patent applications to develop valuable patent portfolios. We establish periodic disclosure and awards programs to identify improvements, ideas, know-how, new products, new processes, prototypes, R&D, and inventions which should be documented and considered for protection and development.

6. Trademarks and Copyrights. We file trademark and copyright registrations. We enforce trademarks and copyrights through litigation when appropriate, and negotiate licenses to generate revenue for our clients. Copyrights, in particular, can be very powerful.

We have worked on hundreds of patent applications for diverse inventions, such as:

coatings, adhesives, catalysts, chemical processes, materials, purification processes, waste handling, control systems, signs, displays, food service equipment, snow-removal equipment, cranes, boats, plumbing fixtures, appliances, medical equipment, imaging equipment, medical supplies, mining equipment, printing processes and inks, material handling equipment, excavators, water and wastewater purification equipment and processes, unit operations including flotation, separation and filtration, chains, bearings, power tools, sporting equipment, consumer goods, surveillance systems, sensors, network systems, biological processing equipment, and semiconductor processing.
