Mr. Burmeister served as local counsel for the Plaintiff which was alleging business disparagement. Jury verdict for the Plaintiff in the amount of 95 million dollars. Case is on appeal
  • Cause No. E-162,269; Michael Gordon as next friend of Ryan Gordon and Sarah Gordon vs. Little Rock Assembly of God, et al; 172nd Judicial District Court of Jefferson County, Texas. Sexual molestation case against local church and its regional headquarters and national headquarters for youth minister molesting Plaintiffs where Mr. Burmeister served as co-counsel. Judgment for the Plaintiffs in the amount of 80 million dollars. Case settlement thereafter at mediation for confidential amount
  • Cause No. B-126,144; Texas Metal Works vs. O. L. Gear Co.; In the 60th Judicial District Court of Jefferson County, Texas. Mr. Burmeister served as lead counsel in a case whereby the Defendant sold a faulty steam hammer to the Plaintiff. Jury verdict for the Plaintiff in the amount of 5 million dollars
  • Cause No. B-134,751; Herbert Straughter, Jr. vs. Gaumer Co., Inc.; In the 60th Judicial District Court of Jefferson County, Texas. Mr. Burmeister represented the injured Plaintiff due to a malfunction of the electric eye manufactured by the Defendant, which allowed bags of resin to continue moving on a conveyor belt at Goodyear, causing a bag to strike the Plaintiff, resulting in a lower back fusion. Jury verdict for the Plaintiff in the amount of 4 million dollars
  • Cause No. B-176,143; E. I. DuPont DeNemours v. Travelers Casualty & Surety Company, et al; In the 60th Judicial District Court of Jefferson County, Texas. Mr. Burmeister served as co-counsel for the Plaintiff, which was seeking to recover asbestosis payouts it had made to various claimants. Confidential settlement
  • Cause No. B-173008; Hooks v. Sampson Oil. Mr. Burmeister was local counsel in an oil and gas case. Burmeister did jury selection and gave the closing arguments. The jury awarded 20 million dollars. Case is on appeal
